Hi!
Growing up, my favorite class in High School was Art. I was particularly drawn to oils and watercolors.
For years, (we’re talking 30+) I really didn’t paint. Life happened.
A Christmas gift of watercolor classes from my husband sparked the desire to pick up the brushes again. Since then, I’ve been studying and picking up valuable information and great techniques as I join other self taught artists. I am particularly fond of international realism watercolor artists.
Since that Christmas gift in 2012, I have been mainly painting in watercolors, and if asked to describe my style I would define it in my own terms as “soft realism”.
During our time living in South Carolina, I was fortunate to have some pieces juried into the SC State Fair and win an award. In the meantime, I enjoy painting commission pieces for people of their beloved pets, family members, homes or vacation spots. I also enjoy painting treasured memories, people and places and beautiful images that I’ve experienced.
Since moving back into surrounding Reading area, it has been a tremendous blessing to have many of my paintings, prints and items available locally in the gift shop at the Reading Public Museum. Local peeps can find a wide selection available there, and meet Jeff the fantastic shop manager!
Through watercolors it is my desire to depict those things that have been created in love by our heavenly Creator that show us how much He loves us. The process of watercolor painting is such a peaceful, joyful process which is hopefully depicted in the end result.
My desire is to continue to grow in any talents that God blesses me with and I thank you for following me in that journey.
Thank you so much for your interest in my work! Blessings to you!
Denise
