How appropriate that this painting, started on a snowy day is finished right around the time that another snow storm is supposed to be headed our way. The last rays of today’s sunlight are shining in the window, and I have to admit I’d much rather be expecting warmer weather tomorrow. But, weather patterns change and they can bring challenges.
Lots of things change, don’t they?
During this painting, I spent quite a bit of time thinking about what doesn’t change. That is the love that God has for us. How thankful I am for that. His word tells us:
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16
During the last weeks of working on this painting, I was thinking about that, and also this verse:
“The LORD their God will save his people on that day as a shepherd saves his flock. They will sparkle in his land like jewels in a crown.” – Zechariah 9:16
May you find rest today in the unchangeable.
May you sparkle in his land like jewels in a crown.
